Builds
Builds bring members into the work alongside partner communities and organizations. Construction is a practical point of connection, grounded in listening, shared priorities, and the work of strengthening a home and its community.

Our work
A home is shaped by more than walls. We work alongside communities on the priorities they identify, prepare members to enter those relationships with care, and help bring the resources and wider attention needed to carry that work forward.
We build and rehabilitate houses in partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates and homeowners. We work alongside partner communities, on build sites and in the engagements with them, from construction to the different projects that help a community strengthen itself.

Habi-Tide carries the chapter beyond the build site and into the environments around a home. Members and community partners work together along the shoreline, connecting environmental care with the relationships and conditions that help communities thrive.

We educate our members, campus, and local community about the work and mission of Habitat for Humanity. We teach what Habitat does, and why housing poverty is a structural problem rather than a simple one.
TALAB is the chapter’s primary education initiative: a public session that brings the housing crisis into the wider campus conversation. It helps the Ateneo community understand the issue and invites people to see advocacy as something they can take part in, not simply learn about.

Before any build, drive, or community activity, members take part in sensitivity and safety training. The workshop covers how to listen, speak with residents rather than at them, make room for community voices, and follow the protocols that keep everyone safe. It turns “with, not for” from a principle into a practice.

We advocate on behalf of people in need of decent shelter and for an end to poverty housing and homelessness. We raise awareness and work to make these issues a matter of conscience and action rather than something people read past.
Also raise work
Homebound is the chapter’s largest public event: a fun run open to people within and beyond Ateneo. It brings housing advocacy into a lively, accessible setting, helping more people encounter the issue while supporting the work financially.

We raise funds for the work of Habitat for Humanity through fundraising projects that sustain themselves, putting what they raise behind the priorities partner communities set for their own development.
Bob-Bigay brings the campus into the work through a shared sale of pre-loved clothing and other goods. It creates an accessible way to contribute, while the resources raised follow priorities identified together with partner communities.
Bingo for a Cause raises funds through a day organized with, not simply for, a partner community. Cards are sold in advance, residents help run the event, and the proceeds support needs the community has identified. Just as importantly, the event gives members and residents time to connect with one another.
